About… “AJ”

Always outside, always in nature. That’s right where you’ll find him. Whether it’s in the garden, or along the tree line.

AJ grew up in a tight knit neighborhood on the New Jersey side of and only minutes away from New York City. He never wanted to go home when the street lights came on. It was the typical dinner bell alarm for the youth of his childhood, if not a dinner bell itself. Most of his life, personal and professional, was always outdoors.
He grew up with what could be an equivalent scenario to the movie “The Sandlot,” especially with the amount of kickball played all day. A dozen plus friends to grow with, everyday. He was extremely lucky to have such a great childhood. Though, AJ always looked out the windows while in school, almost all day, almost all days. There was so much life out there and so much less than he could understand inside. He spent summers in Vermont almost every year. Hiking, fishing, exploring streams, wooded areas and tree lines.

After finishing his senior year of high school with a full time job; he decided that serving his country, earning the title of U.S. Marine, was the next best thing for him, as he was unsure at this point, in which direction life would take him. After receiving an Honorable Discharge serving with Third Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, in Southern California he returned home and stayed in New Jersey ever since.

Jane, AJ’s mother, is a locally well known water color artist whom he credits his passion for natural beauty. Also a former Art Teacher, in his hometown Catholic grammar school. She has won multiple awards over the years for her passion of the arts and the natural landscapes she paints. AJ believes that his mother gifted him this eye for natural wonder; also the gift of gab.

With the unfortunate evolving world of COVID-19, there has been a small silver lining. It was during these trying times in which AJ had found his passion of photographing those simple moments, amongst the creatures, that not many have opportunity to see or appreciate. It not only holds a passionate value, but a therapeutic escape.

After spending a year of target learning animal behavior, environments, ideal locations, and gathering a collection of his time, effort and work; Arthur is hopeful to share this adventurous new passion with you… and keep you up to date with his projects and photography. Learning the camera, perspectives, lighting and angles without a single class in photography is the challenge he seeks to overcome. He finds great enjoyment in learning and capturing something new each and every day.
